When my wife Penne and I moved to Miller Dr., in the Hollywood Hills, we were excited about our neighbor behind us, Burt Reynolds, and across the street, Buck Henry. But down the hill a few houses, living next door to Rita Moreno, was this actor: John Phillip Law. He was the blind angel in Barbarella, staring Jane Fonda.
Mostly excited because Life Magazine had recently had him on the cover and I LOVED the photograph. And here he was in person. A very sweet guy. Buck Henry (The Graduate), later sold his house and our new neighbor was Vincent Price!
Whether it's writing, directing, reviving Art Deco, or colorizing Silver Screen Stars, my jobs have always been on the creative side.
